Eleanor Maylin and her mum, Katherine both lost their full time jobs the very same day, during the COVID outbreak.
Like most people at that time Eleanor set about some home DIY jobs - to make her home perfect. Soft furnishings add that bit of luxury to any room and cushions are the beautiful finishing touches to any sofa or bed. But she just couldn't find a shop that specialises in just luxury cushions. There was no one to help her choose her fabric, colour, style, and sizes. What she didn't need was an expensive interior designer, she needed a made-to-order service.
Fast forward 4 years and The Couture Cushion Ltd is now a successful small UK business, supplying bespoke, made-to-order cushions to our lovely customers as well as leading hotels, high end interior designers, boutiques and large online retailers. We are an all female staff (well, except for Pablo, our fluffy four legged guard dog!) and are strong advocates for women in business. We are striving to be leaders in the Manufacturing By Hand industry and to show that it can be done, exceptionally, here in the UK.
