Katherine and Eleanor both lost their full time jobs the very same day, during the COVID outbreak. Like most people at that time Eleanor set about some home DIY jobs - to make her home perfect, if she was to be in it everyday shielding from the pandemic. Cushions were the most major part of a sitting room or bedroom, but she just couldn't find a shop that specialises in just luxury cushions. There was no one to help her choose what style, size, colour was best suited to her room. Luckily Eleanor has a design degree, but the thought of others having just the option of being left with either paying thousands for an interior designers advice or to taking the plunge and meet a sea of 'not quite right' cushions in John Lewis. She then also very quickly spotted on Instagram home accounts that their cushions looked sad, dull and very lifeless. After months of late night calls, hard work, a dream and a £70 investment from Katherine later... The Couture Cushion was born! Fast forward 2 years and we now supply cushions to leading hotels, work with the highest statueses of interior designers, sell to amazing boutique hotels and large online retailers, as well as helping our own lovely clients. We have three lovely staff members Jessica, Chloe and Harriet - not to leave out little Pablo the very small fluffy four legged guard dog. We are advocates for women in business, we want to be the leaders in manufacturing by hand and show that it can be done in the UK. We also recognise the importance of the traceability of our cushions and can tell you exactly how the item has ended up at your doorste, tracing back to exactly where it has been.
